Cosmetic Dental Enhancements

Cosmetic dental bonding, also known as composite dental bonding, is a quick and effective way to correct minor dental imperfections such as small spacing, chips and stains. Using a durable, but non-permanent, plastic-like tooth colored material to cover imperfections and gaps. Bonding allows our team to make alterations quickly with little to no discomfort to our patients. Dental bonding is priced by the number of surfaces or sides it is applied to on the tooth to create the desired effect. It is recommended and used most commonly on the tooth surface or in between teeth, when used for the edges of teeth it can easily chip away. Bonding is recommended to be touched up or redone every 3 to 5 years or as recommended by our team to maintain your desired results. Porcelain veneers is a more long-lasting approach to achieve the same results as dental bonding. Cosmetic dental bonding is not for all patients. We recommend you speak to our dentist and team at our next dental visit to determine if you are a candidate for bonding and how Art of Cosmetic Dentistry can help you achieve the cosmetic dental results you are desiring.

A bright, white smile is very much in fashion. A beautiful smile implies a more healthful and youthful appearance. Art of Cosmetic Dentistry offers a variety of in-office and take home whitening options to lighten stained teeth and rejuvenate your smile. Professional bleaching products can eliminate years of staining from items consumed daily such as coffee, tea, red wine, sodas as well as the some staining caused by Nicotine and medications. Brightening your smile can improve your confidence in social and professional situations greatly. Please ask our dental team which popular, cost-effective and safe whitening option is best for your desired outcome. Prior to beginning any teeth whitening regimen, we strongly recommend patients have a professional hygiene cleaning to remove tartar and plaque that will prevent whitening products from absorbing and eliminating stains.

ZOOM Teeth Whitening system, made and distributed by Philips a leader in world-wide oral healthcare products, is the most popular professional dental whitening treatment in the world and Dr. Ray Morgan has been offering it to patients for over 10 years with great success. The two-hour whitening treatment uses light activated bleaching gel to provide optimal same day results. During this treatment the Art of Cosmetic Dentistry dental team protects the gums with special guards and applies the gel to the teeth to break up stains. The treatment consists of three to four full mouth applications and is a relaxing opportunity for patients to achieve dramatic results. Please note, ZOOM Whitening works most effectively on natural dentin. It has been shown to remove some staining from porcelain restorations such as crowns and veneers however, this is not guaranteed by the makers of this product. A white, or colorless diet is encouraged for the first 24 hours after completing this treatment. The manufacturer discourages any food or beverages be ingested for the first 24 hours that could stain a white shirt. Your teeth are most porous during this time and could absorb or re-stain with color if you don’t follow this guideline. Results are different for all patients, but our dentists can give you an estimated result based on an examination. As with any whitening sensitivity may occur for the first 24-48 hours after completing treatment, we recommend your preferred over-the-counter pain reliever to help with discomfort. To maintain optimal whitening results, please follow this treatment with a take home whitening application. Please contact Art of Cosmetic Dentistry at 404-816-8200 to inquire more about this treatment.

Dr. Ray Morgan and our team at Art of Cosmetic Dentistry want to help you create the most aesthetic smile possible. Your gums are the framework of your smile and can cause a less attractive result when they are imposing on teeth revealing a gummy smile. Gum sculpting is a gingival aesthetics procedure performed in office by our dentists to correct uneven gum tissue. This procedure is done with a laser to remove excess gum tissue that can often be caused by orthodontic appliances, hormones or medications. The results of this procedure reveal bigger, broader, more defined “arched” gums with symmetry and consistency usually in the front part of the mouth but can also be done throughout. Gum sculpting is usually done as part of a smile makeover, which includes dental bonding, veneers, crowns or whitening. This procedure can also be effective when done on it’s own as it creates a more aesthetic, defined smile. There are some limitations to this procedure that our dentists can discuss with you, it is important that you have healthy gums and enough gum material to be removed without compromising your periodontal health or teeth. It takes approximately 1-2 days to recover from this procedure and a mild over-the-counter pain reliever can ease any minor discomfort. Results will immediately be revealed and minor gum healing will be required. A smile consultation with one of our dentists will help you understand if this procedure is best for creating your desired result.

Art of Cosmetic Dentistry dentists relish the opportunity to offer patients instant cosmetic dentistry results. Enamel contouring is a unique procedure that allows dentists to reveal immediate visible results. This procedure consists of reshaping minimal amounts of chipped or worn enamel for patients desiring a more even, symmetrical result. It is important that you speak with our dentists to see if you qualify for this procedure. You would only want a qualified dentist trained in cosmetic results to perform this procedure, as proportions are extremely important and enamel cannot be naturally replaced.

Enamel Microabrasion is safe and frequently used procedure to remove stains, discoloration irregularities and some defects on the enamel surface. Dr. Morgan and his team use a rubber dam to protect oral tissues, and Hydrochloric Acid is used in combination with pumice to eliminate white striations, yellow covering and brown molting unable to be removed through professional whitening procedures. This procedure is often followed by at home dental bleaching with custom trays and a Carbamide Peroxide gel to further whiten the patient’s smile. If you felt like there were not options to improve the appearance of your stained teeth and whitening has not given you the results you were looking for, please contact our office at 404-816-8200 to schedule a consultation with one of our dentists and discuss if enamel microabrasion is an option for improving your stained teeth.
